A vault clerk is responsible for overseeing access to money in the vault or safe at a bank. Some vault clerks also work at casinos. As a vault clerk, your job duties include counting and handling money, verifying amounts and signatures, and receiving and recording transactions in a secure, safe manner in compliance with bank and federal regulations. You may also restock ATMs and check securities against loan specifications. Qualifications for this career include the ability to pass a federal and state background check, excellent data-entry and math skills, and a high school diploma. Prior experience is not usually required, and you typically complete on-the-job training to start.
