Position Summary

Halo Hospitality is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Vacation Rental Property Inspector & Maintenance Technician to help maintain the quality, safety, and functionality of our vacation rental portfolio. This role is responsible for conducting property inspections, performing preventative maintenance, assisting with property onboarding, and ensuring homes are guest-ready at all times.

The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, solving maintenance challenges, and taking pride in delivering a high-quality guest experience through well-maintained properties.

What You'll Do
  • Perform routine property maintenance, including changing air filters, smoke detector batteries, and light bulbs

  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair issues

  • Complete touch-up painting, landscaping tasks, leaf blowing, and gutter maintenance

  • Respond to service calls and maintenance issues that may impact the guest experience

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs when needed

  • Conduct pre-stay property inspections to ensure homes meet cleanliness, safety, and functionality standards

  • Perform quarterly safety inspections and identify areas requiring attention

  • Document property conditions and communicate findings to the Property Manager

  • Assist with onboarding new properties, including setup, furnishing coordination, and quality checks

  • Install and test smart home technology such as locks, thermostats, and security systems

  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to support urgent guest and property needs

  • Respond to after-hours maintenance concerns and help coordinate timely resolutions

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in property maintenance, facilities management, construction, or a related field

  • Strong hands-on maintenance skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor property issues independently

  • Experience conducting property inspections and preventative maintenance

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential property concerns

  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with team members, vendors, and property owners

  • Comfortable using mobile apps and software to track inspections, maintenance, and reporting

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds and perform physical job duties

  • Weekend availability
