Job description

Utility Billing Accountant - Property Management

The Basics:

  • Location: Position will be based in Richmond, VA
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Hybrid position - some remote work with 2 days in office per week
  • Reports To: Utility Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Calculating and processing resident water/sewer charges on a monthly basis
  • Assists in identifying and resolving utility billing discrepancies
  • Communicate with vendors and onsite property teams to resolve utility issues
  • Enter utility (water/sewer, gas and electric) invoices into payable system
  • Assist with monthly financial statement review including review of the general ledger and processing month end journal entries
  • Special projects and other duties, as assigned by Utility Manager

Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft excel and using formulas
  • Excellent communication and overall computer skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Accounting knowledge and experience is a plus

Pay: $53-58k depending on experience and accounting knowledge
