Job description

Description The Office Administrator performs supervisory, administrative, and resource work in support of the Utility Billing Division. The incumbent's work involves supervising all administrative staff, creating, managing, and carrying out all office accounting functions. Examples of Duties Ensure all aspects of the Utility customer Service/billing department daily functions are carried out in a professional and timely matter.

Post payment batches to General Ledger Ensure each payment transaction is correct and has been posted to the General Ledger correctly. Ensure each cash, check, and credit card transaction has been posted in the General fund bank account. Ensure all NSF transactions are reversed from the Utility account and ensure proper notification to citizens of such transactions via letter and certified mail.

Utilizes the Virginia Debit Set off program to ensure proper collection of outstanding utility charges. Ensure all return mail has been scanned to utility account and research forwarding address. If no forwarding address is available, ensure that transactions that affect cash IE.

refund checks are voided. Monitor supplies for office. Ensure invoices are submitted and are within the yearly budget.

Maintains current policy and procedures; updates these procedures as needed to ensure adequate resources for employees. Observes all approved safety and health policies and procedures pertaining to an employee's work activities and performs all work tasks in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with County policy. Performs other assigned duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Requires the use of fingers, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; Three (3) years of related work experience; Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.
