Overview

Supervisor - Baltimore, MD (Direct Hire- Full Time, M-F)

IST Management Services is sourcing for a direct hire, full-time, supervisor position in Baltimore, MD. This position will work full time hours per day in a higher education mail room. IST is a rapidly growing business process outsourcing (BPO) company and the largest American privately-owned facilities management company.  Founded in 1997, the company is a two-time recipient of the Human Resources Professional Excellence Award granted by the Society for Human Resource Management. We observe a business professional dress code. Must be willing to cross train for potential advancement opportunities!

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (need to be flexibility to work 4 weekends during student move -in/return to school in the fall and spring time)

Compensation: While the compensation for this position is finally dependent upon the candidate's experience/qualifications, the approximate compensation for this role will be $20.00 to $21.00 USD per hour.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities may include:

  • Maintain effective written and oral communications with clients and employees
  • Prioritize work and deploy staff as required to ensure customer needs are met in regard to on-time delivery of services and quality of work
  • Ensures all work standards are met on a consistent basis
  • Ensures all work standards are met on a consistent basis by IST site employees
  • Accurately prepare and distribute management reports to the client in a timely and consistent manner
  • Ensures maximization of productivity through efficient use of standard operating procedures; Develops new procedures to improve the operation of the site
  • Manages, trains and coaches' employees and students and develops a work environment that promotes high motivation and customer satisfaction
  • Assign, review, plan and coordinate the workforce to optimize coverage during a workday
  • Ensures the proper and safe use of all equipment used by employees and students to complete tasks as assigned
  • Quickly troubleshoot delivery delays and track missing shipments
  • Ensure 100% chain-of-custody for student mail and packages
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Two years' experience supervising or managing similar operations preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and familiarity with computer basics is preferred
  • Must have customer service skills and be able to maintain a consistent, high level of service; Ability to communicate both verbally and written with customers and other employees both one-on-one and during meetings
  • Knowledge of supervisory techniques to manage, motivate and train employees
  • Understand U.S. Postal Service (USPS) regulations, rates, and specialized mailing procedures (e.g., registered, insured, and certified mail)
  • Ability to prepare reports and present information to customers
  • Must pay attention to detail and critically think through and resolve problems; Ability to multi-task, manage multiple accounts and establish priorities
  • A valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation to and from work
  • Able to backfill driving the company vehicle for distribution purposes when needed
  • Lifting up to 55 pounds; standing for long periods of time; significant walking; willingness to cross-train for other job functions
