The Senior PMO Lead is responsible for owning enterprise project delivery, PMO governance, and execution enablement in support of the organization's strategic framework and goals.
This role combines senior project leadership, people and vendor management, and PMO governance ownership, while also serving as the primary operational assistant and execution partner to the Group Vice President, Operations Excellence & Transformation.
The Senior PMO Lead ensures that strategic initiatives are well-designed, properly prioritized, consistently executed, and operationally adopted. While scaling delivery capacity without diluting discipline or overloading executive leadership.
Core Responsibilities
1. Executive Partnership & Portfolio Enablement
  • Serve as the primary assistant and execution extension of the Group VP, Operations Excellence & Transformation.
  • Support annual and quarterly planning, transformation roadmaps, and initiative sequencing.
  • Translate strategic priorities into executable portfolio plans with clear capacity, dependencies, and risks.
  • Prepare executive-ready materials, dashboards, and decision frameworks for leadership and governance forums.
  • Act as a trusted thought partner on initiative readiness, delivery health, and organizational capacity.
  • In partnership with the support teams and field leadership, this role is to identify and manage execution-level friction so the executive team can remain focused on strategy, leadership, and enterprise alignment.

2. PMO Ownership & Governance Leadership
  • Own the PMO operating model, governance framework, and delivery standards.
  • Ensure consistent application of project intake, prioritization, planning, execution, reporting, and closure.
  • Maintain enterprise visibility across the project portfolio, including health, risk, dependency, and capacity tracking.
  • Facilitate prioritization and escalation decisions to ensure resources are focused on the highest-value initiatives.
  • Drive maturity in reporting, cadence, and discipline while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Continuously improve PMO tools, templates, and rhythms to match organizational growth.

3. Project & Program Delivery Leadership
  • Lead the execution of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives from intake through post-implementation stabilization.
  • Own delivery outcomes across timeline, scope, risk, quality, and business value.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex delivery issues, cross-functional dependencies, and stalled decisions.
  • Ensure clean transitions from project delivery into operational ownership with clear success metrics and accountability.
  • Balance speed and rigor in environments where compliance, people, systems, and operations intersect.

4. People, Consultant & Vendor Management
  • Directly manage Project Managers, contractors, and consultants, ensuring consistent execution quality and growth.
  • Coach and support project managers and project owners in planning rigor, stakeholder management, and execution discipline.
  • Lead engagement, onboarding, and oversight of external vendors and consulting partners.
  • Support vendor selection, scope definition, and contract/SOW clarity.
  • Hold vendors to account for outcomes and accountability in scope while ensuring institutional knowledge transfer and sustainability.

5. Process Design & Business Analysis Leadership
  • Guide structured discovery and process design for enterprise initiatives.
  • Ensure problems are clearly defined, requirements are validated, and success metrics are measurable.
  • Partner with Operations Excellence leaders to design scalable, executable future-state processes.
  • Ensure solutions balance efficiency, compliance, system capability, and frontline usability.
  • Reinforce clear ownership, decision frameworks, and RACI models across initiatives.

6. Advisory Role to Leaders & Project Owners
  • Act as a senior advisor to executive sponsors, functional leaders, and SMEs.
  • Support leaders in structuring initiatives, clarifying outcomes, and navigating tradeoffs.
  • Coach leaders who are new to project ownership on expectations, decision rights, and accountability.
  • Improve leadership effectiveness by reinforcing clarity, cadence, and delivery discipline.

Qualifications & Experience
Required:
  • 5 or more years of experience in project management, operations transformation, PMO leadership, or business analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience managing PMs, consultants, vendors, and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Proven success operating in complex, compliance-sensitive, people-driven environments.
  • Strong executive communication, judgment, and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Deep understanding of project governance, process design, and execution at scale.

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems and process design, implementation.
  • Background in staffing, professional services, logistics, healthcare, or similarly complex service organizations.
  • PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable credentials.
