Job description

โ›ฐ About Northslope
The generational companies of the next century will run on mission-specific AI software that compounds their competitive advantage, not commoditized SaaS. We purpose-build production AI applications that enable our customers to operate at the speed, scale, and margins of an enterprise software company, in any industry.
We're building something fundamentally different: software that's as adaptable as the businesses it serves, created by engineers who understand both code and customer.
The Role
This is not your typical enterprise sales role. It is an opportunity for proven leaders excited about owning and building a business within a high growth start-up. At Northslope, we create bespoke AI applications for our customers that deliver lasting solutions to previously unsolvable problems. There are no playbooks. We seek the rare individual who possesses a deep quantitative and strategic background, who is driven to solve complex business problems, has a track record of delivering complex solutions for ambitious clients, and understands that revenue is core to any business. If your passion is for understanding the why behind a problem and building a business from the ground up, this is the role for you.
What you'll do
  • Lead and execute the entire deal lifecycle for multi-million dollar deals, focusing on creative deal structuring and mutual value creation, not just a transactional close.
  • Forge unique, long-term partnerships that deliver outsized value over many years, going deeper than rinse and repeat contracts.
  • Act as a cross-functional leader, collaborating with product, engineering, and legal teams to shape go-to-market strategies and land creative deals.
  • Apply your analytical and strategic mindset to deconstruct complex, nebulous business problems and architect novel solutions that leverage AI software to drive measurable impact.
  • Bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, engaging in high-level architectural discussions and demonstrating technical credibility to a diverse range of stakeholders.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven Track Record of Delivery: A demonstrable history of building and delivering on partnerships that solve complex business problems for customers.
  • A Builder's Mindset: You are not a cog in a machine; you are an entrepreneur who identifies high-level business problems and applies a strategic mindset to create innovative, value-driving solutions.
  • Quantitative Foundation: A foundational education in a quantitative field from a top US university (e.g., Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics). This rigorous background is the starting point for your approach to problem-solving and value creation.
  • Executive Presence: Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with a history of engaging with and influencing C-suite and executive-level audiences.
  • Technical Affinity: An interest in or understanding of software architecture and development principles, with the ability to discuss complex technical concepts in an accessible manner.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in ambiguity and a strong bias toward action in unscripted environments.

Our Principles
  • Only Valuable Problems: Not every problem is worth solving. We work on the projects that will significantly improve our customers' bottom lines.
  • Outcomes, Not Activity: We create value, not extract it. We focus on our business impact, not racking up billable hours.
  • Forward Deployed Engineering: We never build in a vacuum. We go to the heart of the problem and build alongside our users.
  • One size fits none. Generic software fails the most important customers. We build for the specific - the exact industry, workflow, data, and competitive context of the company we're serving.

Why Northslope
At Northslope, we're built different. We take pride in being more like a product startup than a traditional services firm. We value velocity, ingenuity, and grit, and we relentlessly focus on delivering tangible outcomes for our customers.
We also have fun. We get to work on big, hard problems, in a fast-paced environment, alongside sharp yet kind teammates who help us continuously grow and delight in one another's successes. We offer full benefits and all the perks you'd expect of a modern tech startup, and are a distributed global team with hubs in London, New York, and UAE.
We hope you're excited to join us and look forward to speaking with you soon.
Northslope is committed to building a strong, diverse team. We believe teams with a diversity of lived experience, background, and perspectives create better outcomes for our customers and are just more enjoyable to be part of. We are committed to creating and living a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our work. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, religion, disability, pregnancy, age, military status, marital status, genetic characteristics or information, gender, gender identity, gender variance, or sexual orientation.
