Job description

Learning Systems Architect - Dallas, TX

About Us:

Specialized โ€“ One Force. Multiple Front Lines. One Step Ahead.

Specialized delivers integrated security solutions through a portfolio of brands built on a unified, data-driven platform. Metro One Security focuses on retail security, while M1 Global delivers scalable solutions for non-retail enterprise environments across industries, and Aurix is our proprietary technology platform, powering prevention, detection, and operational visibility while collecting and analyzing data to support future advancements. Together, these brands combine specialized expertise with shared technology and intelligence to drive stronger performance and outcomes for our clients.

Role Purpose & Innovation Mandate:

We are seeking a visionary, high caliber Learning Systems Architect to serve as our premier organizational builder and master designer of enterprise learning infrastructure. This is an elite, high-impact mandate created explicitly to innovate, design, and construct an internal L&D ecosystem from the ground up.

Your primary mission is to stitch together proprietary, in-house built systems with cutting-edge commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications into one unified, highly automated delivery and measurement engine. You are responsible for transforming raw operational intent into seamless, scalable, and bulletproof training pathways that prove operational competency across a massive frontline footprint.

Key Responsibilities & Core Tenants:

1. Ground-Up Ecosystem Design & Innovation

  • Blank-Canvas Innovation: Lead the end-to-end design, structuring, and deployment of a net-new, enterprise-wide corporate training platform built to scale seamlessly.
  • Hybrid Systems Integration: Map out the technical connectivity between proprietary, in-house built software tools and established off-the-shelf enterprise platforms (LMS, HRIS, Scheduling, and Rostering apps).
  • Data Schema Architecture: Define the exact backend data schemas and integration protocols required to pass frontline user profiles, training compliance states, and real-time field telemetry across disparate networks.

2. Scaled Frontline Delivery Architecture

  • Automated Delivery Pipelines: Design automated, mobile-first onboarding pathways optimized for rapid "time-to-productivity" across a decentralized, hourly workforce.
  • Risk Mitigation & Safety Nets: Architect automated, system-wide compliance safeguards, establishing the backend programmatic logic that connects training records to live scheduling locks (e.g., auto-detecting expiring credentials to proactively prevent field compliance gaps).

3. High-Velocity Measurement & Analytics Framework

  • Competency Telemetry: Architect the core data engine under the hood that captures micro-learning completion, speed-to-productivity, and operational field performance.
  • Actionable Business Intelligence: Build comprehensive, closed-loop feedback loops and measurement frameworks that transform training actions into structured data, proving the direct impact of L&D on client retention and operational risk.

4. Technical Blueprinting & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Engineering Blueprints: Produce highly technical architectural visual maps, workflow logic diagrams, and system requirements to serve as the definitive blueprint for software developers.
  • Strategic Translator: Serve as the vital structural bridge translating high-level executive KPIs and instructional design concepts into precise technical specifications for systems engineers.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Formal Education: Masterโ€™s degree required in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Business Architecture, Operations Research, or a highly technical equivalent discipline.
  • A Ph.D. is strongly preferred, particularly in Systems Engineering, Organizational Learning, Information Systems, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Operations Research, Business Architecture, or a related field demonstrating advanced expertise in enterprise systems design, workforce optimization, and organizational performance.
  • Length of Experience: 10+ years of progressive professional experience acting as a Business Architect, Systems Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Systems/Operations Engineer.
  • Program Innovation: A proven, demonstrable track record of creating, building, and running enterprise programs completely from the ground up. Must possess a definitive "builder" mindset with experience scaling decentralized platforms from scratch.
  • Automation Expertise: Extensive experience designing automated workflows, closed-loop tracking architectures, and dynamic learning paths utilizing open APIs to bridge custom code and commercial software.
  • Workforce Alignment: Deep structural understanding of high-volume, distributed, or hourly frontline workforces (e.g., security, logistics, aviation, or supply chain environments) and the unique operational challenges of field delivery.
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process and continuously meet any applicable state, county, and municipal requirements.

Core Deliverables:

1. The Master System Blueprint: A comprehensive, technical architectural diagram detailing the data integration boundaries between custom in-house tools and off-the-shelf software applications.

2. The Frontline Delivery & Automation Logic: Documented, automated workflows outlining how training is assigned, scaled, and managed dynamically without manual administrative intervention.

3. The Performance Measurement Matrix: A fully defined telemetry schema detailing the data points captured across the employee lifecycle to score, track, and verify field operational competency.

Pay & Benefits:

  • Competitive executive compensation package commensurate with experience
  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance.
  • 401(k)
