Construction Manager

Our Client designs, builds, and supports the world's most demanding digital infrastructure environments. We're searching for an experienced Data Center Construction Manager who thrives on large-scale, complex projects and knows how to lead field teams to deliver flawless structured cabling and low-voltage installations.

This is a senior, onsite leadership role where you'll take full ownership of construction execution—from day one planning through commissioning and closeout—ensuring projects are safe, on schedule, fully compliant, and built to the high standards.

If you're a detail-driven leader with deep technical expertise in fiber and structured cabling systems—and the ability to guide large field teams to operational excellence—you'll feel at home.


What You'll Lead

Own Safety as Priority #1

  • Model and enforce an Accident-Free Every Day safety culture.
  • Lead job site safety standards, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Support incident investigations, RCAs, and data-driven lessons learned.

Direct Data Center Construction Operations

  • Drive the development and implementation of project plans, installation strategies, and sitelogistics.
  • Maintain and manage 5-week look-ahead schedules, labor forecasts, and daily progress tracking.
  • Coordinate with Project Management and Procurement to ensure timely delivery and staging of materials.
  • Oversee daily field operations to meet or exceed production goals, budget, and schedule milestones.

Ensure Technical Excellence & Standards Compliance

  • Serve as the senior SME for data center, low voltage, structured cabling, and fiber installations.
  • Guarantee compliance with ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NEBS, and all customer specifications.
  • Lead testing and commissioning activities, including OTDR, power meter validation, labeling standards, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Identify design gaps, field conflicts, or changes; drive RFIs, clarifications, and scope adjustments.

Lead, Mentor & Develop Field Teams

  • Manage large (60+) field technician teams—union or nonunion.
  • Conduct hiring, training, performance evaluations, and career development for onsite personnel.
  • Provide technical coaching and mentorship to accelerate crew capabilities and elevate work quality.
  • Foster a culture grounded in safety, collaboration, accountability, and craftsmanship.

Be the Customer's Trusted Onsite Partner

  • Act as the main construction operations liaison for the client.
  • Participate in customer meetings, site walks, technical discussions, and milestone reviews.
  • Proactively address challenges around workflow, delays, installation issues, or tactical execution.

Operational & Digital Skills

  • Ability to build and manage work activity sequencing and project phasing plans.
  • Strong computer skills: MS Office, Blue beam, Procore and construction management platforms.
  • Ability to quickly learn new construction technologies and workflow tools.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5+ years of supervisory experience on large-scale structured cabling or data center construction projects.
  • Experience managing large, dispersed field teams (60+).
  • Data center new build or retrofit experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with union telecom crews and labor compliance required.
  • Preferred certifications:
