Job description

The Union Benefits Analyst will be responsible for multi-state union processes and reporting of fringe benefits based on Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and maintaining the rules in the Entitlement Management System (EMS). The union segment requires a different approach when processing union payments based on the numerous union contracts that ABM is involved with on a yearly basis. A successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, research and analytical skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with Accounting, FP&A, Human Resources, Legal, Labor Managers at ABM along with Union Contacts is crucial.

Education and Competencies

  • Associates or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Accounting/Finance background a plus
  • Strong MS Excel skills required (VLOOKUPS and PIVOTS)
  • Union benefit experience preferred
  • Understanding of payroll processing requirements is a plus
  • Commitment to teamwork through relationship-building, reliability, and collaboration
  • Good communication skills and able to work with different management levels
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong analysis and communications skills
  • Possess a positive attitude with a strong desire to learn
  • Ability to work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment (OT may be required)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the union benefit rules in the Entitlement Management System (EMS)
  • Create and setup new union codes as new Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) are obtained
  • Obtain renewed Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) from Operations or Legal Team to update expired rules in all systems and companies
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of union collective bargaining agreements
  • Review and compare monthly invoices from the union to ABM's calculated invoices
  • Process union payments per Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) entitlements
  • Reconcile monthly accruals versus payments and research any discrepancies
  • Perform routine review and analysis of employer and employee cost sharing of union benefits
  • Assist in annual Year-End Multi-Employer reporting to our SEC team
  • Communicate with Accounting, local HR, Payroll, and Operations to resolve issues with the processing of union payments.
  • Perform routine review and analysis of the Union rosters compared to ABM's employee union roster and update as needed either with ABM's system or the union's portal
  • Conduct and analyze audits with detailed review of audit periods for each employee
  • Draft and present report findings and analysis for each audit period(s)
  • Gather and review records by employees and/or union
  • Coordinate with various departments to resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure all union audits are tracked and accruals recorded timely and accurately
  • Comply with HIPAA Rules and Regulations
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Job duties or responsibilities may be modified as needed to reflect changing priorities and/or work conditions with ABM.
