Part-Time Benefits Service Specialist/Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Provide benefits administration support to clients and their employees.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Obtain quotes from carriers for new employee benefit plans and alternative plan options.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Prepare, draft, and submit requests for proposal (RFPs) for health and welfare plans.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Review carrier proposals and RFP responses for accuracy, competitiveness, reasonableness, and alignment with client needs.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Negotiate with carriers on behalf of clients to secure competitive pricing for renewals and new business.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Contact clients to complete pre-renewal questionnaires and gather needed information.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Prepare and maintain benefit renewal spreadsheets, proposals, presentations, and supporting materials.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Create open enrollment materials for client groups and employee communications.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Process customer policy change requests and new business paperwork.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Perform invoice audits and census audits.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Research and review benchmarking data to create client benchmarking reports.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Respond promptly to client inquiries, service requests, and cancellation requests.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Handle incoming calls with professionalism and care.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Produce work that is accurate, clear, and organized
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Support the team in delivering a consistently high level of service by exceeding client expectations.

Qualifications and Skills
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Bachelor's Degree, associate's degree, or equivalent experience
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  5+ years of employee benefits administration experience
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Strong working knowledge of employee benefits, including medical and ancillary lines of coverage
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Experience with fully insured and self-insured plans
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Advanced to expert-level Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, tables, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro skills
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Experience preparing and reviewing benefit spreadsheets, proposals, and presentations
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Knowledge of benefits contract language
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations related to Health Care Reform
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and complete work accurately
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Ability to perform well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Employee Navigator experience preferred
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Leadership ability and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  Experience working directly with carrier quoting, renewals, and benchmarking processes
