Job description

Approximately 25-30 hours per week | Hybrid Schedule (4 days onsite, 1 remote)
The Benefits & Leave Specialist is responsible for the administration of employee benefits programs, leave of absence processes, and related HRIS activities. This role serves as the primary point of contact for benefits and leave administration, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a high level of employee support.

This position is dedicated specifically to benefits and leave administration and is not an HR Generalist role.
This is a part-time, benefits-eligible position offering approximately 25-30 hours per week in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate is an experienced benefits and leave administration professional who thrives in a detail-oriented, employee-focused environment and values flexibility, ownership, and long-term stability.
Key Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA, EAP, legal plans, 401(k), and related offerings
  • Coordinate with benefit vendors and assist with ongoing plan administration and issue resolution
  • Support annual Open Enrollment activities, including employee communications, enrollment support, and informational meetings
  • Respond to employee benefit questions and provide timely, high-quality customer service
  • Facilitate benefits onboarding for new hires and ensure accurate enrollment processing
  • Partner with HR and Finance on benefits reporting, reconciliation, and related administrative activities
  • Assist in evaluating and maintaining competitive benefits offerings aligned with employee and organizational needs
Leave of Absence (LOA) Management
  • Administer all aspects of leave of absence processes, including FMLA, ADA, personal leave, and disability-related absences
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee leave questions, documentation requirements, and process guidance
  • Coordinate with STD/LTD vendors regarding disability claims and leave administration
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company leave policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate leave tracking, benefit deductions, and HRIS updates related to leave activity
  • Support leave administration for both union and non-union employees in accordance with applicable policies and collective bargaining agreements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding Workers' Compensation and leave coordination as needed
HRIS & Reporting
  • Maintain and update employee records within ADP Workforce Now
  • Process employee changes, leave entries, terminations, and related HRIS transactions
  • Support reporting, auditing, and benefits-related data management activities
  • Assist with HRIS process improvements and system accuracy initiatives
  • Upload and maintain benefits and compensation-related system files as needed

Qualifications:
Required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in benefits administration and/or leave management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and related leave regulations
  • Experience working within HRIS platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information professionally
  • Strong communication and employee support skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience administering benefits in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting union and non-union employee populations
  • Experience working directly with benefit and disability vendors
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills
Additional Information
