Mon, Tues, Thurs 3:30p-8:30p; Sun 10:30a-2:30p
Part-time, benefits eligible

Purpose: To provide a high level of customer service to Hunger Mountain Co-op shoppers through accuracy of transactions, timely and efficient service and a genuine, friendly and helpful manner that leaves our customers feeling they had a great shopping experience.
Status: Reports to Front End Manager
Pay Level 2
Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
โ€ข Treat customers fairly, consistently, and with respect.
โ€ข Ensure efficient, friendly and informative service according to established customer service vision and standards.
โ€ข Begin customer transaction with a friendly greeting such as "Hello, how are you today?" while making eye contact.
โ€ข Bag groceries for customers, as needed.
โ€ข End customer transaction with a pleasant farewell such as "Thank you, have a nice day." Remember the cashier is the last staff member the customer will be in contact with.
โ€ข Familiarity with Co-op policies and procedures in order to answer customer questions.
โ€ข Refer unresolved questions or problems to the Front End Supervisors, Assistant Manager and/or Front End Manager.
Cashiering:
โ€ข Open and close out registers following established procedures.
โ€ข Check out customers' purchases quickly while maintaining accuracy with respect to tender and point of sale entries.
โ€ข Watch monitor in order to ensure accuracy of entries.
โ€ข Pass out membership information to interested customers.
โ€ข Accept equity payments.
โ€ข Process returns following store policy.
โ€ข Participate, assist, and support the curbside program where necessary.
โ€ข Be responsible for safety in the workplace by creating a safe work environment, reporting safety concerns to a manager or member of the Safety Committee, and adhering to safety rules and regulations.
โ€ข Follow department policies and procedures.
Security and Money Handling:
โ€ข Ensure security and accuracy of accounting for all transactions processed during shift including daily deposits, change requests, and security at registers and in the cash room.
โ€ข Ensure security of keys used during shift.
โ€ข Follow security procedures in handling cash, deposits or other emergencies.
