Job description

Join UCT and be part of the fastest-growing sector in the world. We indirectly touch every semiconductor chip that goes into smartphones, smart cars, and AI-enabled devices. At UCT, our onsite technicians are critical to maintaining strong customer partnerships. This role requires attention to detail, accountability for quality, and professionalism while representing UCT at a customer site every day.
As an on-site technician, this individual serves as a visible ambassador of UCT, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, communication, and conduct while working side-by-side with customer personnel in a fast-paced fab environment.
We are hiring:
  • One Day Shift Technician
  • One Second Shift Technician

Primary Work Location (Customer Site):
Northwest Phoenix - near the I-17 and Loop 303 interchange
Required Training Location (First Week):
East Phoenix - near 40th Street and University Drive
Candidates must be willing and able to commute to both locations as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support UCT operations onsite at a customer facility by coordinating shipping, receiving, and material flow activities.
  • Track and manage incoming UCT materials delivered to the customer dock; ensure items are correctly routed into appropriate internal queues for pickup and processing (non-physical receiving role).
  • Coordinate multiple crates, kits, and part movements, ensuring accuracy of documentation, labeling, and routing.
  • Perform visual inspection of parts and product prior to shipment to UCT, verifying:
    • Correct part count and identification
    • Visible damage, defects, or contamination
    • Packaging condition and labeling accuracy
  • Ensure parts and kits meet cleanliness, quality, and documentation standards before release for shipment.
  • Document inspection results and escalate discrepancies, damage, or quality concerns through established channels.
  • Maintain accurate data across internal systems, including open order reports, schedules, tracking logs, and inspection-related documentation.
  • Ensure parts and kits are properly staged and ready to support customer preventive maintenance activities.
  • Communicate professionally with customer personnel, logistics teams, and UCT internal stakeholders; navigate challenging interactions with composure and tact.
  • Represent UCT onsite by demonstrating professional appearance, respectful behavior, accountability, and adherence to customer site policies.
  • Utilize Excel, Microsoft Teams, and other systems to manage daily workflows, reporting, and documentation.
  • Identify material discrepancies, delays, or process issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic fab environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Follow all cleanroom, safety, quality, and security protocols required by the customer site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support onsite operations.

Professional Conduct Expectations
Because this position is embedded at a customer site, the technician is expected to:
  • Act as a trusted representative of UCT at all times.
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with customer personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all customer and UCT policies.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and consistent follow-through.
  • Escalate quality or inspection concerns appropriately rather than bypassing established processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Required
  • Experience in logistics, shipping/receiving coordination, material flow, or product inspection / quality checks in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify visible defects, damage, or non-conforming conditions.
  • Comfort performing visual inspections and basic quality verification tasks prior to shipment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to manage schedules, reports, inspection records, and documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional communication skills and customer-facing experience.
  • Comfort working in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment.

Preferred
  • Semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing experience.
  • Prior experience performing material inspections, kitting verification, or quality checks.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems or quality documentation.

Education and Requirements
  • Associate degree or higher in a technical, logistics, or business-related field or
  • High school diploma with 2+ years of relevant operations, logistics, inspection, or manufacturing support experience.
  • Ability to pass required customer background and security screenings.
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance reliability.

Work Environment
  • Work performed at a customer semiconductor facility in cleanroom and adjacent support areas.
  • Required to wear cleanroom garments and PPE including bunny suit, hood, booties, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Frequent computer use and interaction with customer personnel.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions and changing priorities.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during a shift.
  • Ability to push carts and move materials within the facility.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to kneel, reach, grasp, push, and pull as required.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
