Job description

Location: Coos County Jail
Reports To: Shift Sergeant or Watch Commander

Summary:
Responsible for monitoring and controlling inmate, staff, and visitor movement within the corrections facility. Operates security systems and provides administrative and technical support to corrections staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate control systems for cameras, monitors, electronic doors, elevators, and communication equipment.
  • Monitor facility for safety and security using electronic visual devices.
  • Screen and route visitors; process inmate correspondence.
  • Prepare and maintain records, reports, and documentation.
  • Perform general office tasks including typing, filing, and data entry.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Typing and computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and follow complex directives.
  • Must obtain and maintain CJIS certification.
Rate of pay: $20.00 an hour.
