Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Area's Office Services Supervisor I (Typing), the Office Assistant is responsible for processing CHP 180, Stored/Impounded Vehicle Report, by verifying/updating stored vehicles information in the automated vehicle system and check for accuracy. The Office Assistant (Typing) is also responsible for processing and tracking of both criminal and civil subpoenas. Receptionist duties: Courteously and professionally answer telephones, routes calls to the appropriate desk, takes messages, makes various appointments (Vehicle Identification Number/Car Seat/Start Smart) and assists the public with various general questions. Greet and assist visitors at the reception counter directing them to the proper area personnel. Performs other duties, within the scope of the classification, as assigned.
