Crestview Youth Academy in Crestview, Florida, is a therapeutic residential treatment program providing trauma-informed care for male youth. The program focuses on mental health and behavioral stabilization, combining evidence-based treatment, education, and enrichment programming to help youth build positive coping skills and prepare for successful community reintegration.


About the Role

The Key Control (Master Control Operator) is responsible for monitoring and controlling facility access, maintaining security, and ensuring the safety of staff, youth, and visitors. This role involves high attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control facility access and ensure security protocols are followed


  • Place and answer internal calls, maintaining awareness of staff names, locations, and program routines


  • Manage the entrance and exit of visitors, documenting all visitation and off-site movements


  • Authorize, monitor, and document youth movement throughout the facility


  • Monitor video systems and respond to any security concerns


  • Conduct perimeter checks at the beginning and end of each shift


  • Communicate emergencies promptly to appropriate staff and leadership


  • Log all staff entering and leaving the facility


  • Monitor and respond to fence, fire, and security alarms


  • Notify supervisor of receipt of paperwork, court orders, or other documentation


  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required


  • Experience: Minimum of one year working with at-risk youth or in a control/monitoring role in an institutional or correctional setting


  • Skills: Strong decision-making and communication skills; ability to act independently and responsibly in a fast-paced environment


  • Other: Must maintain a valid state driver's license and meet state background check requirements


Physical Demands

Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable


Able to actively engage with youth, participate in physical interventions, and transport youth or staff as needed


Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state


Must pass evaluation of physical techniques and certification exams
