About the role
The Control Room Operator leads and directs employees who, under the direction of the shift Supervisor, oversee and direct the operation of the facility. This position is responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis. Will respond to alarms by taking appropriate corrective actions and execute plant shut-down and start-up procedures and ensure that the plant meets it's generating requirements while operating in a safe and environmentally efficient manner.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Ability to demonstrate how your actions support Reworld Values and Behaviors, including Safe and Inclusive Workplace, Delivering Results through Trust and Building Breakthrough Capabilities.
  • Understands and trains other Operators on the operating principles of the power facility's systems, components and steam cycles.
  • Maintains required logs and calculations; observes these logs for indications of faulty operation; notifies supervisor of abnormal system conditions.
  • Provide guidance to Crane, Auxiliary, and Back Plant Operators to maintain a safe and efficient operation
  • Effectively monitor Reworld operations systems and have strong working knowledge of boiler, turbine, and auxiliary equipment operations
  • Experienced in reading blueprints, P&ID's, and schematic specifications
  • Manage critical events and prioritize tasks for completion at times during emergency, providing clear directions in operational, safety and environmental tasks
  • Respond to operational alarms, taking immediate corrective action
  • This position will be required to be in the field during outages.
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of operational best practices, including the ability to problem solve and make sound decisions that supports Reworld's safety and operational goals

Position Requirements & Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of ASME QRO Provisional Licensing exam required within the first year of holding the position
  • All Control Room Operators must have strong leadership and motivational skills, and the ability to stay alert while sitting for long periods of time.

Physical Demands of the Role:
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions

Shift Work:
  • This position works on a rotating 12-hour shift including weekends and some holidays. Overtime will be required

Pay Transparency
Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $73,807.00 - $101,445.00 . For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
