Job description

We are seeking a Master Control Operator (MCO) to monitor and control on-air programming across multiple television stations and digital channels. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate broadcast transmission, FCC compliance, signal quality, and reliable operation of broadcast automation systems in a 24/7 environment.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control on-air programming for multiple broadcast channels.
  • Operate broadcast automation systems, including Florical or similar platforms.
  • Ensure accurate playout of programming, commercials, graphics, and EAS alerts.
  • Execute live programming switches and special event broadcasts.
  • Monitor audio, video, and closed captioning quality.
  • Ingest and prepare content for broadcast.
  • Maintain FCC logs and operational records.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with engineering when needed.
  • Work closely with news, traffic, and programming teams to support daily operations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in master control, broadcast operations, or television operations preferred.
  • Experience with broadcast automation systems (Florical preferred).
