SCOPE: The Master Scheduler is responsible for ownership and execution of the master production schedule across all production lines. This role ensures alignment between customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and operational constraints to achieve on-time delivery and efficient production flow.
This position serves as the central control point for production sequencing, capacity planning, and schedule integrity. The Master Scheduler compiles, analyzes, and summarizes large sets of production, capacity, and performance data to drive decision-making and proactively identify risks to the schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Develop, maintain, and own the master production schedule across all production lines, including sequencing, start dates, and completion targets.
  • Analyze production capacity and constraints across fabrication, assembly, and support areas to ensure alignment with demand.
  • Perform headcount and labor capacity planning based on required production hours, available labor, and efficiency assumptions to support schedule feasibility.
  • Compile, consolidate, and analyze large volumes of data from ERP systems, production reports, and operational metrics to support scheduling decisions.
  • Identify schedule risks including material shortages, engineering delays, labor constraints, and equipment limitations; develop mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Production Control Analysts, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Materials to ensure production readiness.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and drive corrective actions to recover missed milestones and maintain delivery commitments.
  • Develop and maintain reporting and dashboards (Excel, Power BI) to communicate schedule performance, risks, and capacity outlook.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies in scheduling processes, data accuracy, and system usage.
  • Align production schedule with business objectives, customer demand, and revenue targets.

 POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

  • Advanced knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to compile, interpret, and summarize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, data modeling) and experience with Power BI or similar tools preferred.
  • Strong understanding of labor planning, including converting production hours into headcount requirements.
  • Ability to identify constraints and balance competing priorities in a dynamic production environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data clearly and influence cross-functional teams.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in production scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and production planning tools required.
  • Experience in a complex manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined.
  • Versatile, flexible, and willing to work with changing priorities.
