Job description

Do you love working outdoors and are passionate about trees, plants, shrubs or lawn care?
We are seeking a motivated and dependable seasonal Nursery Assistant to join our busy tree farm and nursery operation. This position is responsible for supporting daily nursery operations through hands-on horticultural work, plant care, inventory management, order fulfillment, and general nursery maintenance. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, has a strong work ethic, and takes pride in maintaining healthy plants and an organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the care and maintenance of nursery stock, including trees, shrubs, perennials, and seasonal plant material.
  • Water, fertilize, prune, and monitor plant health to ensure quality growing conditions.
  • Pull, stage, and load customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with receiving, unloading, and organizing incoming plant and nursery inventory.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with periodic inventory counts.
  • Support bulk material operations, including loading and assisting with deliveries of mulch, soil, rock, compost, and other landscape materials.
  • Operate nursery equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain nursery grounds, greenhouses, growing areas to ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment.
  • Monitor and report plant health concerns, pest issues, or irrigation problems to management.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic knowledge of plants, trees, shrubs, and horticultural practices is a plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Hours - Monday - Friday 7:30am - 3:00pm
