Job description

Tree Farm & Nursery Lead Technician

Lone Magnolia Tree Farm & Nursery is seeking a motivated, self-directed individual to help develop and grow our tree farm and nursery operation. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and wants to grow into a leadership role as the operation expands.

Tree Farm & Nursery Lead Technician

Pay

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
(Based on experience)

Schedule

Full-Time
40 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of the tree farm and nursery
  • Mow, weed-eat, and perform general property maintenance
  • Apply herbicides safely and effectively
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems
  • Repair and maintain tree watering and cable-run systems
  • Pot and up-pot trees and plants from liners and saplings into larger containers
  • Rotate, organize, and maintain nursery inventory
  • Monitor plant health and identify maintenance needs
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and minor repairs
  • Keep records and provide regular updates on farm and nursery activities
  • Help establish systems and procedures as the operation grows

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation
  • Experience with irrigation systems preferred
  • Experience operating mowers, string trimmers, and spray equipment preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus
  • Experience in nursery, tree farm, landscaping, agriculture, or horticulture is preferred but not required
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors year-round
