Job description

Overview

Midwest Dental, supported by Smile Brands, is seeking a dependable and adaptable Traveling Periodontal Dental Assistant to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated dental assistant who enjoys variety, teamwork, and travel within a clinical setting.

Position Overview

In this role, you will primarily travel with a periodontist for approximately two weeks per month, typically on an every-other-week schedule, with the potential to expand to a third week in the future. During alternating weeks, you will support other offices in the region, assisting general dentists and hygienists as needed.

This position requires strong organizational skills, flexibility, and comfort with a fast-paced, mobile work environment.


Schedule (days/hours)
Monday-Thurs 7:45-5, Friday 7:45-4
Responsibilities
  • Travel with the periodontist to assigned office locations (approximately 2 weeks per month)
  • Set up, transport, and maintain dental instruments and clinical supplies
  • Load and unload instruments and equipment at each location efficiently and safely
  • Assist periodontist chairside during periodontal procedures
  • Support general dentists and hygienists during non-periodontal weeks
  • Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, organized, and accounted for
  • Maintain high standards of infection control and clinical readiness across all locations
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across different office environments

Qualifications
  • Meet all state specific dental assistant credentialing requirements for the duties assigned in the state of employment
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain before start date)
  • Strong communication and commitment to excellent patient care
     
     

Compensation
$23-$28/hr offering a $2000 Sign on Bonus
