Job Title: Operations Manager

Industry: Transportation / Private Charter / Fleet Operations

Location (city, state): Austin, TX

Assignment Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $85,000-95,000 + discretionary performance bonus

Work Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, 8:00 AMโ€“5:00 PM (must be flexible for early morning, evening, and occasional weekend operational needs based on charter and route demands)

Job Description:

We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee daily transportation operations, lead frontline teams, and help build scalable processes in a rapidly evolving environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-growth setting, enjoys being deeply involved in day-to-day operations, and is comfortable leading both people and process execution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily transportation operations ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable service delivery
  • Lead dispatch, field staff, and supervisory teams to ensure operational consistency
  • Develop and implement standardized processes to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Monitor service performance, resolve operational issues, and respond to service disruptions
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance management to staff at multiple levels
  • Support employee development while addressing performance issues when necessary
  • Collaborate with leadership to evaluate operational performance and drive improvements
  • Analyze operational data and prepare reports for leadership review
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and internal policies
  • Support coordination across dispatch, safety, maintenance, and administrative teams


Qualifications:

  • Experience in transportation, logistics, fleet operations, charter services, or related industries
  • Proven leadership experience managing supervisors, dispatch teams, or operational staff
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coach, guide, and hold teams accountable
  • Experience working in fast-paced, evolving operational environments
  • Familiarity with transportation or dispatch systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and implement process improvements
  • Knowledge of DOT or FMCSA regulations preferred
