Travel Center Operations Assistant Manager
A serious, direct and analytical person comfortable taking the lead. An individual adept at working independently and prefers roles that benefit from the existence of a process to drive strong outcomes. This person is highly reliable and known for your ability to execute with a high degree of expediency and accuracy.
Essential Job Duties/Functions:
  • Assists store manager in recruitment, applicant interviews, onboarding, and training of all new hires.
  • Manage and provide oversight of all teammates on-site training including completion of Food Handlers, Alcohol & Tobacco, and Fuel Certification.
  • Provides feedback to store manager involving scheduling needs of the stores to ensure proper coverage in the general operations of the facility.
  • In absence of store manager, creates and posts weekly schedule and has a high overview of CHR and the functionality within the platform to assist with teammate questions and concerns.
  • Assist Store Manager in Daily Store Operations, including daily work list completion, and maintaining or communicating any facility repairs.
  • Assists store manager in completion of daily paperwork such as Daily Reconciliation within the back-office software, daily bank deposits, and completion of Safe Reconciliation and Fuel Logs.
  • Manages and provides oversight of all store operation directives. This includes delegations, completion, follow, and the general execution of store communications from the corporate office, including, but limited to, marketing, operations, and reconciliation of financial reports.
  • Provides direct oversight of the front end operations including registers operations and Fat Dogs Rewards
  • Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearances of assigned store meets or exceeds company standard and are in proper working order both inside and out.
  • Provide top-rated customer service, including resolving customer issues or complaints by determining reasonable solutions in a timely manner.
  • Assist Inventory Control Assistant Manager with invoicing processes and procedures, completing in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Follow all safety procedures to maintain a safe facility by following all state/federal regulations and use safety first practices to remain accident-free. Report any safety issues to Store Manager immediately.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Capable of recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching of employees.
  • Possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude in order to effectively communicate and lead a team.
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to change when required.
  • Able to work holidays, weekends, and any shift needed as needed.
  • Has reliable transportation and phone.
  • Be able to communicate in English.
  • Able and willing to work cooperatively with all other team members.
