Job Summary

As a Real Estate Legal Assistant with Realty Income, you will work with and support the Legal-Acquisitions group (and others in the Legal Department, as assigned) in all administrative services related to assigned matters. A familiarity in the Microsoft Office Suite, coupled with a keen eye for detail will allow you to hit the ground running. Our legal group is expanding quickly, and we are excited for you to grow with us.

What you will be working on:

Assist the Legal-Acquisition legal team, with the following:

  • Order, follow up and compile file documentation (including fee quotes) for transactions upon receipt of requests from the business teams.
  • Set up file folders and manage the organization of all diligence and deal documents in deal database.
  • Coordinate distribution of diligence documents to various company departments for sign-off and approval.
  • Correspond with corporate department to obtain appropriate buyer entity for transaction.
  • Assist with miscellaneous title matters.
  • Manage critical dates and closing timeframes for transaction.
  • Obtain sign-offs from various departments and obtain approvals as needed to progress the transaction.
  • Assist with preparation of closing documents, tenant notice letters and title instruction letters.
  • Review property and diligence information and advise Attorney and Paralegal of potential issues.
  • Gather and input property data into Company data platform.
  • Assemble closing documents and prepare for execution.
  • Request and facilitate wire transfer of closing funds and deposits.
  • Assist with post-closing follow up and preparation of transaction reports and other interdepartmental communications.
  • Assist with preparation and delivery of notices to tenant and third parties.
  • Assist with record retention and filing, including upload of final documents to final share site
  • Handle various requests for assistance and support.
  • Serve as notary public (pursuant to California regulations for appointment).
  • Special projects and duties as assigned (including without limitation for the Legal PM group and Corporate Paralegal, as applicable).

What you need to be successful:

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Combination of education, training, experience, skills and other characteristics that would provide the requisite knowledge and abilities in support of the essential job functions.
  • California Notary Public (may be obtained after employment).
  • Prior experience in a legal environment.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including performing duties with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Competent in Excel, Word, Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications.

This hybrid position is based in our San Diego (Del Mar area) headquarters. Monday through Thursday is in-office for collaboration, with the opportunity to work remotely on Friday.

The hourly pay range for this role is $31.13 - 37.83 - 44.72

Offers near the high end are uncommon but may be considered for candidates with exceptional experience and skills and are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. You may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, to be discussed during the interview process. An annual pay rate and total compensation package is generally determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.
