Training & Competency Coordinator
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
We are seeking candidates with experience more closely aligned to Training Coordination, Learning & Development, Learning Specialist, Instructor, or Educator roles, rather than traditional Human Resources positions.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- No overtime expected
- 100% on-site position
Travel Requirements
- Occasional domestic travel may be required based on business needs.
Key Qualifications
- Ability to balance data analysis and coaching, with approximately 50% of the role focused on analyzing training and competency data and 50% focused on communicating findings and recommendations to management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly adaptable with the ability to learn new technologies, processes, and systems quickly.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
- Professional demeanor and strong team-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated stability and longevity in previous employment history.
Interview Process
Round 1: Virtual interview, including a 10-minute presentation on a topic relevant to training, learning, development, or professional growth.
Round 2: In-person interview.
Position Summary
The Training & Competency Coordinator is responsible for managing and administering competency and training activities, maintaining training records, supporting learning initiatives, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs. This role serves as a key resource for competency tracking, training logistics, performance analysis, and communication with internal stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and monitor competency and training records in accordance with applicable requirements and standards.
- Review and update competency and training materials to meet organizational needs.
- Maintain and enhance the organization's competency management system.
- Track deadlines, milestones, and completion requirements within the competency program.
- Serve as an Assessor and/or Verifier, as applicable.
- Monitor, record, and analyze training effectiveness and competency program outcomes.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for trainers and training activities.
- Assist with training program coordination, administration, and development.
- Prepare reports and communicate findings to management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Required/Preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Professional experience in training, learning and development, competency management, employee development, instructional support, or a related field.
