Position Overview
The Employee Engagement & Talent Development Coordinator serves as the primary onsite Human Resources representative for Vaughn's Central Texas region, connecting employees with the people, benefits, and development resources that support their success. This role leads employee engagement events, coordinates onboarding and safety training onsite, and delivers training and development programs that strengthen our culture and reinforce our core values.
In addition to regional responsibilities, this position supports the corporate Human Resources function by helping administer HR training, safety training, and other corporate learning initiatives, and serves as a trusted point of contact for HR, benefits, and development needs across the region.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Employee Engagement
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute employee engagement events and activities across the Central Texas region.
  • Partner with regional leadership to build a strong, connected culture that reflects Vaughn's core values.
  • Gather employee feedback and identify opportunities to improve engagement and morale onsite.
  • Serve as an onsite champion of Vaughn's culture, values, and "Big Why."

Onboarding & Safety Training
  • Coordinate and deliver new hire onboarding onsite for the Central Texas region.
  • Facilitate and track required safety training for field and office employees.
  • Partner with safety leadership to ensure onsite training complies with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding and training records for regional employees.

Training & Development
  • Support the rollout and administration of various HR, safety, and company-specific training programs for employees and managers.
  • Coordinate delivery of corporate training programs, including safety and miscellaneous compliance trainings.
  • Identify regional training and development needs and communicate them to corporate Human Resources.
  • Assist in developing and scheduling professional development opportunities for regional employees.

Onsite HR & Benefits Representation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits, personnel, and general Human Resources questions across the Central Texas region.
  • Support employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and general Human Resources inquiries.
  • Escalate complex Human Resources or benefits matters to appropriate corporate HR team as needed.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with employees, supervisors, and regional leadership.
  • Coordinate per diem and relocation arrangements for regional employees, ensuring accuracy and timely processing in partnership with corporate HR.
  • Prepare, distribute, and track various employee agreements (e.g., offer letters, relocation agreements, per diem agreements, and other personnel documentation) for regional employees.
  • Serve as the onsite point of contact for employee status changes, including transfers, promotions, and terminations, ensuring proper documentation and communication with corporate HR.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date personnel files and employee records for the region in compliance with company policy and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct or support onsite check-ins with new and existing employees to address questions related to pay, agreements, benefits, or general HR matters.

Corporate Support & Collaboration
  • Travel to the corporate office on occasion for team meetings and training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with corporate Human Resources to align regional programs with company-wide HR and talent development strategy.
  • Provide feedback from the field to help shape and improve corporate Human Resources programs.
  • Serve as a positive role model in representation of the company internally and in the community.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, training and development, or employee engagement preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry a plus.
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred.

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
  • Elevated level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Comfortable working onsite in a field/construction environment.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential HUMAN RESOURCES matters.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft suite products.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the Central Texas region and occasionally to the corporate office.

Working Conditions
This role is based onsite across the Central Texas region, with regular travel between jobsites and offices to support employees where they work. Occasional travel to the corporate office is required for team meetings and training initiatives. This position may occasionally require work outside of standard business hours to support employee engagement events or training sessions.
