What You'll DoLearning & Development
  • Independently lead and manage learning and development projects from needs assessment through implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement. 
  • Partner with department leaders and stakeholders to identify performance gaps, learning opportunities, and development needs across the organization. 
  • Design, develop, and deliver high-quality learning solutions, including instructor-led training, virtual learning, blended learning, e-learning, job aids, and performance support materials. 
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for instructional design, adult learning principles, facilitation techniques, and learning technologies. 
  • Facilitate complex training programs and presentations for employees, leaders, and cross-functional teams. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate technical and operational content into engaging and effective learning experiences. 
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through participant feedback, knowledge assessments, performance metrics, and business outcomes, making recommendations for improvement as needed. 
  • Consult with managers and department leaders regarding employee development strategies and learning solutions. 
  • Establish credibility with learners by demonstrating expertise, providing relevant examples, and connecting learning content to business objectives and job performance. 
  • Analyze emerging learning and development trends and recommend innovative solutions to enhance organizational learning programs. 
Project Leadership & Learning Technologies
  • Provide project leadership for department-wide initiatives by coordinating timelines, deliverables, stakeholder communication, and implementation activities. 
  • Support the administration and optimization of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other learning technologies. 
  • Create and maintain training manuals, procedure guides, multimedia resources, facilitator guides, and other instructional materials. 
  • Perform work with a high degree of independence, exercising sound judgment and decision-making authority within established guidelines. 
  • Handle complex assignments and escalated learning-related challenges while supporting team success and organizational objectives. 
Leadership & Mentoring
  • Mentor and support Learning & Development Specialists by providing guidance, coaching, feedback, and sharing best practices. 
  • Assist with onboarding and development of new Learning & Development team members. 
  • Serve as a mentor and knowledge resource for Learning & Development Specialists. 
  • Provide guidance and support on project execution, facilitation techniques, instructional design, and stakeholder management. 
  • Model professionalism, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. 
  • Assist in onboarding and developing new department team members. 
  • Share best practices, lessons learned, and innovative approaches to improve team effectiveness. 
  • Support department initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the Learning & Development function 
Organizational Support
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle for travel to branches as necessary. 
  • Must effectively carry out the essential duties and responsibilities of this position in a manner that consistently demonstrates a commitment to Austin Telco's mission and values of Respect, Empathy, Service, Integrity, and Cooperation. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Learning & Development Manager. 
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience. Relevant work experience demonstrating progressively increasing responsibility in learning and development may be considered in lieu of a degree. 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in learning and development, training facilitation, instructional design, organizational development, or a related field. Internal candidates may be considered for advancement without meeting the stated years-of-experience requirement if they demonstrate sustained high performance, documented mastery of skills and competencies in their current role, and consistent readiness to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position. 
  • Demonstrated experience independently leading complex training or organizational learning projects. 
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and performance improvement principles. 
  • Advanced facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt delivery methods as needed. 
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and consulting skills. 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. 
  • Experience developing training materials using learning technologies, e-learning authoring tools, and learning management systems. 
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess learning needs and measure training effectiveness. 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision. 
Preferred Experience
  • 5+ years of financial institution or credit union experience. 
  • Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or ATD Associate Professional in Talent Development 
  • Experience with Learning Management System administration and reporting. 
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing peers and colleagues.
