CSN Collision safely repairs more than 250,000 vehicles a year helping Canadians get back on the road with the trust and comfort of knowing their vehicle has been returned to like new condition. Since 2002, CSN has grown to become the leader in collision repair with over 400 collision repair Centres across Canada, the US and Italy.

Summary

The Training & Development Specialist supports the planning, coordination, development, delivery and continuous improvement of CSN Performance offerings, including training, best practices and engagement opportunities. This role helps ensure training and development resources are well organized, accessible, documented, implemented and continuously improved to support CSN Licensees and CSN Collision staff. The role reports into the Director, Programs and Services.

Description

The Training & Development Specialist works closely with CSN Departmental Leaders, including the Field Operations Team (FOT), and the Director, Programs and Services, to assess training needs, support best practice development, coordinate communication and contribute to the continued development of the training and development function. This role supports the delivery plan for training and development, assists with regular reporting and helps gather feedback from key stakeholders to encourage teamwork, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Primary Objectives:

  • Support the planning and coordination of training and development for CSN Licensees and CSN Corporate Staff.
  • Assist the Director, Programs and Services and People and Culture partners with the Training and Development Plan to help corporate staff and CSN Centres grow and perform.
  • Research content and support the development of learning materials and programs, ensuring alignment with CSN business goals and learning industry best practices.
  • Monitor the quality of the learning experience to help maintain company standards, improve ease of use and understanding, and support participant engagement.
  • Support the assessment of learning delivery methods, including e-learning, remote learning, train-the-trainer and web-based learning, to help ensure the approach is suitable for the audience.
  • Identify learner challenges and potential change management barriers, and recommend practical strategies to address them.
  • Design, coordinate and/or deliver learning opportunities for targeted groups while supporting desired outcomes and knowledge transfer.
  • Support the design and implementation of methods to measure program effectiveness.
  • Participate in needs assessments with internal and external stakeholders to identify training and development priorities and provide recommendations that support business goals.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and industry training providers to understand needs and support training programs that add value to CSN Collision.
  • Support the use, administration and maintenance of the Learning Management System to help achieve training objectives.
  • Assist with the development of processes and tools for training activities.
  • Support tracking of planned program costs and help gather information to demonstrate the value of training programs.
  • Share best practices in training design, delivery, innovation and change management with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Strong Knowledge in creating training and development programs in a variety of modalities- virtual, in-person, self-directed etc.- for a best-in-class learning experience that offers a blended learning approach

Education and experience

  • Candidate should possess a university designation or a combination of experience and education
  • Candidate should have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in training, learning and development, program coordination, facilitation or a related field.
  • Ideal candidate possesses the ability to read, speak and write in both English and French.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems.
  • Project coordination experience with a focus on training curriculum development is preferred.
  • Understanding of, or experience in, collision operations or equivalent experience.
  • Requires strong attention to detail in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent ability to partner with colleagues and function as part of a small team delivering high volumes.
  • Continuous learner with an open mindset and comfortable learning from other team members and our licensees.

Travel requirements

  • Required travel expectation up to 15%, which may require overnight stays.

  • Must have a valid Driver’s license and good standing
