Job description

The Specialist, Training Development will work closely with Subject Matter Experts and teams across Honda Canada brands (Honda, Acura, and Power Sports/Power Equipment) to design learning that meets specific business needs.

This Training Development Specialist will be designing, developing and implementing mobile app content, videos, virtual learning, e-Learning, job aids, and classroom training related materials.

This staff will be responsible for project management and leading training activities with vendor partners. Additionally, they will be also responsible for consulting with internal clients, subject matter experts and other stakeholders to understand learning needs and define success measures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop and implement e-Learning, mobile app content, videos, virtual learning , job aids, and classroom training related materials.

  • Project management duties and leading training activities with vendor partners.

  • Consult with internal clients, subject matter experts and other stakeholders to understand learning needs and define success measures.

  • Maintain existing training courses and materials. Facilitate and lead pilot training and Train-the-Trainer sessions for various programs.

  • Work with other instructional designers, sales & services trainers to ensure effective communication of issues, needs, problems, and opportunities.

  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve dealer training programs by developing multimodal learning content, collaborating with fellow instructional designer/other instructional designers on the team and sales/service trainers.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College diploma or University (Bachelor's Degree), preferably in Learning & Development, Communications, and/or Business/related discipline, or relevant experience.

  • Certificate in Adult Learning/Instructional design (preferred).

  • 3-5 years experience in instructional design preferably, with automotive experience being a preference as well.

  • Minimum 2 years experience designing and managing the development of web-based, video based, or virtual learning.

  • Strong instructional design and communication skills with experience as an eLearning developer on Articulate Storyline and other Articulate tools including Rise. Must have strong project management skills and ability to meet project quality expectations within schedule commitments.

  • Skills with Adobe Suite including but not limited to Photoshop, In-Design, and basic video editing skills are good to have.

  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with all members of the team.

  • Develops and maintains good working relationships within Honda North America as well as all other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop, establish and maintain good working relationship with Honda North America suppliers, partners, consultants, stakeholders and other network contacts.

  • Enjoys team building approach of management and department - shares results.

HIRING PRACTICES

The salary range for this position is $83,139.00 - $98,727.00 annually.

Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of job-related factors, including education, experience, knowledge, and skill set.

This is an on-site with occasional work-from-home position that requires employees to work on-site four days per week with the opportunity to work-from-home one day per week (with a dedicated workspace at the assigned company office).
