This has allowed us to become creators and distributors of buildings and products that people use to live, learn, worship, work, and play.

Job Summary: The Metal Building Design Engineer is responsible for the structural design, analysis, and optimization of pre-engineered metal buildings to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and internal manufacturing constraints. This role works closely with drafting, project management, manufacturing, and sales teams to deliver cost-effective, structurally sound building solutions that align with company objectives and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Structural Design & Analysis:

Perform structural analysis and design of metal building frames, secondary framing, and connections using industry-standard software (e.g., MBS, AutoCAD, SkyCiv, etc.).

Ensure designs comply with applicable codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, AISI, MBMA) and project-specific requirements.

Optimize designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability while maintaining structural integrity.

Evaluate and design modifications for existing structures when necessary.

Technical Collaboration & Support:

Work closely with drafting and detailing teams to ensure accurate representation of engineering intent in shop drawings and erection plans.

Provide guidance to project managers, sales, and customer service teams on technical feasibility and design constraints.

Support field service teams with structural clarifications and issue resolution during construction.

Quality & Compliance:

Conduct design checks and peer reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Assist in developing and refining engineering standards, tools, and best practices.

Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for engineering-related errors.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

Stay up to date with advancements in metal building design, materials, and construction methods.

Contribute to the development and implementation of automation tools, design optimizations, and process improvements.

Benefits: This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) plan, Share Profit plan, and paid time off.

Work Environment & Expectations:

 Remote, Hybrid, or on-site position.

Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.

Occasional travel for site visits, training, or customer meetings as needed.

Proficiency in structural analysis software and metal building design tools.

Strong understanding of steel design, load paths, and connection detailing.

Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, MBMA, AISI).
