Job Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor to academic and administrative leaders within the institution. This role aligns human capital strategies with college goals, providing consultative support in areas such as employee relations, talent management, organizational development, performance management, and compliance. The HRBP fosters a collaborative and high-performing work environment in support of the mission of providing access to high-value educational experiences that transform lives and advance our communities.
There is a total of 3 openings for 3 different campuses.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic and trusted advisor to college and department leaders, providing guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, and change management initiatives. Serve as the primary HR liaison for assigned client groups, fostering employee engagement and delivering responsive, solutions-oriented support.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as institutional policies and higher education regulations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align talent strategies with institutional priorities and accreditation standards; oversee recruitment and selection processes for assigned client groups; and partner with leaders on succession planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Manage comprehensive employment life cycle activities, including workers compensation, leave administration, and retirement counseling; collaborate with Learning and Development to assess training needs and deliver targeted professional development programs.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, and workplace investigations; oversee and support effective performance management processes.
  • Leverage data and analytics to generate reports, track key performance metrics, and continuously enhance HR service delivery.
  • Perform a range of HRIS/HCM functions to ensure accurate data management and system optimization.
  • Contribute to the planning, execution, and management of HR projects and initiatives.
  • Partner with HR leadership to cultivate a culture that promotes professional development, collaboration, accountability, and employee recognition.
  • Support budget management activities, including oversight of HR-related funds, supplies, and purchasing responsibilities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, or a related field; or combination of education and experience
  • Four or more years of progressively responsible Human Resource experience including two years of employee relations duties
  • Knowledge of employment law, HR best practices and core Human Resources management principles
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems, HRIS, benefits administration and learning and development platforms; ability to learn and leverage new technologies and tools
  • Skill in verbal and written communications; analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Critical thinking skills and sound business acumen to support informed decision-making
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and provide consultation to client groups
  • Knowledge of effective negotiation techniques and conflict resolution strategies
  • Knowledge of change management principles and implementation strategies
  • Skill in time, organizational and project management with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Georgia Notary Public Commission

Preferred Qualifications
HR professional certification through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) or the HR Certification Institute (PHR or SPHR)
