Starting Pig Specialist will work with farm staff during the nursery stage of production in wean to finish production sites.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Train & assist farm staff during the nursery stage of production:
o Preplacement site inspections
o Initial stocking plans
o Sorting & Treating
o Mat & Gruel Feeding
• Ability to troubleshoot & adjust heating & ventilation systems.
• Assessing health issues and the ability to perform on farm diagnostics
Requirements
Requirements:
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational & time management skills.
• Prior swine management experience.
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Travel - across Iowa with possible overnight stays
