Job description

Norvell IP llc, a vibrant Chicago area trademark and copyright law firm that represents many of the world’s most recognized brands in the fashion apparel, travel, financial, technology and entertainment industries, has an immediate opening for a full-time paralegal to join its growing and dynamic team. The firm operates in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment that focuses on responsiveness and personal client attention. Accordingly, paralegals are trusted with significant responsibility in management of trademark portfolios, IP enforcement actions and litigation support. We seek a candidate with solid writing and communications skills who is capable of delivering high quality work product while handling multiple projects.


The primary duties are:

  • Handle all areas of U.S. trademark prosecution and maintenance matters
  • Domain name enforcement actions, including UDRP complaints
  • Enforcement against internet scams
  • Assist with trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings
  • Correspond and manage foreign trademark prosecution and maintenance matters
  • Conduct preliminary trademark screenings
  • Investigate potential infringements and provide litigation support
  • Maintain client’s intellectual property dockets
  • Work closely with attorneys and other paralegals on other projects


Ideal candidates possess:

  • Undergraduate degree (paralegal certificate not required)
  • Prior trademark experience (3+ years preferred)
  • Sense of humor and team-oriented
  • Tremendous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Technology-oriented mindset with experience in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Highly organized with strong writing skills
  • Self-motivated individual who is a creative problem solver
