POSITION SUMMARY:

  • To setup and maintain molds, lining tooling, printing, and vision systems for use in production. Perform mold, lining, printing, and vision changes safely and efficiently. Keep Tooling Supervisor informed of the condition of all tooling and associated components.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs scheduled maintenance on molds, lining, printing, and vision tooling, as directed by the Tooling Supervisor;
  • Maintenance tasks include but are not limited to:

- Complete dis-assembly of molds

- Clean and inspection of all components

- Repair any damages as directed by Tool Room Supervisor

- Install, replace, and maintain water and hydraulic fittings

- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain HR manifolds, controllers, and cables

- Perform tooling changeovers only after reviewing the applicable Mold Recipe Document (cores, strippers, cavities, gate inserts, and plates)

- Prior to production – test water and HR systems, including controllers

- Replace “O” rings and seals

- Lubricate molds

- Perform Lining Die Cut Edge changes

- Sharpen Lining Cut Edges

- PM Lining Die Sets

  • Constructs side shields, chutes, or knock out rods as required;
  • Transport and manipulate molds by use of fork lifts and overhead cranes;
  • Hooks up / unhooks water, chute, and cylinder (if rack mold) for mold changes in accordance to engineering approves prints;
  • Hooks up / unhooks controller, (if hot runner mold);
  • Installs / removes knock out rods, conveyors, spinner bowls, side shields, and thermolator;
  • Setup process machines; maintain and improve quality cavitation; maintain efficient cycle times document current process setups.
  • Setup punch and rotary lining machines
  • Troubleshoot Lining production issues
  • Returns tooling and components to their assigned locations;
  • Documents condition of tooling; informs supervisor of any major damage to mold or tooling;
  • Adheres to all department safety procedures;
  • Undergoes training and becomes proficient in all tool room related Phoenix Work Instructions;
  • Participates in additional training to improve knowledge and hands-on skill levels.
  • Other Duties Assigned.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures;
  • Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions
  • Backup: Off-shift Tooling/Setup Maintenance.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent; ability to read and understand blueprints; English reading and writing skills; ability to use micrometer, ruler, and caliper; fork lift and man lift certifications required


EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
