Thin Client Product Manager
Description -
The Thin Client Product Manager is responsible for end-to-end product ownership across the Thin Client portfolio, spanning new product introduction (NPI), sustaining execution, and big deal / strategic customer engagement. This role drives execution excellence from concept through end-of-life while balancing customer requirements, cost, margin, and ecosystem alignment.
The Product Manager serves as the primary business and execution owner for assigned Thin Client platforms, working cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, finance, sales, marketing, and ecosystem partners to deliver differentiated products on time and at scale. This role is also a key interface for large customer opportunities, ensuring product readiness, configuration alignment, and issue resolution to win and retain strategic deals.
Key Responsibilities
New Product Introduction (NPI) Execution
  • Own end-to-end NPI execution for Thin Client platforms from program kickoff through production readiness, launch, and post-launch stabilization
  • Drive POR-to-launch execution excellence, including schedule alignment, cost targets, BOM readiness, risk management, and cross-functional issue resolution
  • Partner closely with Worldwide Marketing to develop and deliver key marketing messages, value propositions, and competitive positioning for new Thin Client launches
  • Ensure creation and readiness of marketing deliverables, including product briefs, launch assets, sales tools, roadmap narratives, and internal enablement content
  • Serve as the primary product point of contact for launch execution across Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Marketing
  • Ensure launch readiness across pricing, segmentation, lifecycle alignment, and field enablement in coordination with category teams

Sustaining & Lifecycle Management
  • Act as the business owner for shipping Thin Client products throughout their lifecycle
  • Drive sustaining activities including quality, cost improvements, component transitions, regulatory updates, and issue resolution
  • Manage EOM/EOS planning, lifecycle matrices, and portfolio transitions in partnership with supply chain planning
  • Partner with WW supply chain and regional teams to resolve manufacturing, availability, and cost challenges
  • Track portfolio health aligned to margin, attach, and customer satisfaction goals

Big Deal & Strategic Customer Management
  • Serve as product lead for strategic and high-impact customer deals, including healthcare, government, and large enterprise accounts
  • Partner with Sales, Account Teams, and WW GTM on deal-specific product requirements, configurations, and roadmap alignment
  • Drive rapid response to customer escalations and special requirements tied to large opportunities
  • Balance short-term deal needs with long-term portfolio and roadmap integrity

Portfolio & Ecosystem Leadership
  • Contribute to Thin Client roadmap strategy, platform decisions, and ecosystem alignment (OS, silicon, ISVs, accessories)
  • Represent Thin Client product management in internal exec reviews, sales forums, and customer engagements
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Thin Client solutions, positioning HP's differentiation in cloud and virtual computing environments
  • Influence cross-portfolio alignment with desktops, software, and services

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, NPI execution, or lifecycle management in commercial hardware or enterprise solutions
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional execution across engineering, supply chain, and GTM teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex NPIs and sustaining programs simultaneously
  • Experience supporting or leading large customer deals or strategic accounts
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of cost, margin, pricing, and portfolio trade-offs
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels
