Nova Data Testing is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and highly motivated Field Project Manager to oversee our Non Destructive Testing operations across the Southeastern and Northeastern United States. This is a multifaceted role that requires the ability to simultaneously manage projects, lead and support field teams, and perform handson inspections regularly. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable coordinating logistics, supervising employees, working directly with clients, and working in the field to support technicians onsite. This position involves frequent travel, direct involvement in critical inspections within demanding industrial environments, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service, maintaining safety, and ensuring accurate inspection results. As a key leader for Nova Data, the Field Project Manager plays a vital role in driving safe, efficient, and highquality execution of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead field crews in the inspection of boilers, highpressure piping, storage tanks, and pressure vessels
  • Lead by example through conducting inspections as needed to support field operations
  • Provide daily status updates and progress reports to both clients and management
  • Evaluate inspection results and prepare detailed, accurate technical reports
  • Work closely with clients to maintain positive relationships and ensure project requirements are met
  • Mentor, coach, and develop technicians and assistants to strengthen team performance and support career growth
  • Collaborate with lead technicians and team members to support both professional and personal development
  • Adapt quickly to changing conditions, troubleshoot issues in the field, and ensure safe, efficient project execution

Requirements

  • Certifications in ASNT Level II MT, PT, UT, VI, or SNTC-1A Level II MT, PT, UT, and VI
  • 5+ years of experience in the NDT industry
  • Proven experience managing field crews and multisite projects
  • Strong communication and clientfacing skills
  • Solid understanding of boiler and storage tank operating conditions, safety procedures, and inspection workflows
  • Excellent computer skills and high attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to lead projects independently and collaborate effectively with engineers, inspectors, clients, and internal teams
  • Flexibility with changing schedules
  • Willingness and able to travel 50-75% of the time
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods (shifts may be 12+ hours)
  • Good visual acuity, including near, distance, and color vision
  • Ability to wear a fullface respirator and other PPE for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Comfortable climbing and working from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding (sometimes 100+ ft)
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold
  • Ability to work around industrial hazards
