Job description

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for aTesting Managerto join our Marine team in Jacksonville, FL.You will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the on-water testing facility, including workload management, resource planning, and the establishment of a safe and efficient work environment. In this role you will also be responsible for driving the technical and career development of site staff to ensure continuous growth and excellence within the team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure a safe and efficient work environment for staff and visitors.
  • Maintain site schedule to ensure adequate coverage for testing workload.
  • Ensure site is compliant with all required regulations and guidelines.
  • Execute Environmental Health and Safety committee requirements mandated by YMUS.
  • Manage site OPEX and CAPEX budgets including monthly forecasting and providing requirements to Department Manager for annual budget creation.
  • Compile site's Quarter Billings and other internal chargeback documentation for submission to the Department Manager.
  • Foster and sustain a strong sense of morale among team members.
  • Ensure site security and confidentiality.
  • Manage all site maintenance contractors.
  • Manage the site assets including, boats, trucks, tools, supplies, etc.
  • Serve as the facility's ambassador, upholding a strong reputation both within Yamaha and in the local community.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedule, safety protocols and emergency response plan.
  • Ensure proper technical training to continuously improve site staff's capabilities.

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or relevant field.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in facilities management including team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of product development process.
  • Strong understanding of the marine industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Able to adapt to diverse cultures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
