What You'll do:

We are seeking an experienced Appian Test Engineering Lead to support the development of web-based applications, specifically with automation testing experience.

  • Play a strategic role in the overall design and implementation of the quality assurance program.
  • Lead the development of overall test strategy, test environment design, and test data
  • Provide leadership in the selection and hiring, training, mentoring, project performance evaluations of testing team members.
  • Plan, execute, and report on software development and maintenance testing
  • Review and provide recommendations regarding test documentation
  • Develop test plans and procedures in support of system evaluation based upon specifications and technical data articulated in requirements documents
  • Develop and implement data collection plans based on data collection requirements, to include training for operators and data collectors
  • Conduct required reviews of all data collection forms and operational logs collected during test
  • Review Test Incident Reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Support analysis of documented user requirements and assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirements
  • Work and collaborate with testing working groups for test related issues and topics
  • Provide timely communication regarding upgrades and downtimes (planned & unplanned), system changes, or common issues
  • Understand how to properly report bugs and properly escalate issues as needed
  • Perform technical reviews; ensure adherence to quality processes

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of software testing experience, working with developers, project and release managers, system administrators, business analysts, and database administrators
  • 2+ years of automation testing experience
  • Experience leading a team and mentoring junior team members
  • Experience interpreting requirements, writing quality control documentation (e.g. Test Reports), and writing user acceptance test plans (including Acceptance Criteria)
  • Knowledge of Test Management, Automation toolsets and processes
  • Knowledge of Performance Testing process and cadence
  • Proficiency with test automation and test management tools, like Playwright and Selenium
  • Great organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and communicate and work productively as part of fully remote and/or hybrid teams
  • Must be a U.S. citizenin accordance withcontract requirements.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS clearance (preference given to those holding active TS clearance)

  • This is a hybrid position and will require on-site presence at our Groundswell HQ in Mclean or other client site locations in the Norther Virginia area

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the software development life cycle in general and Agile specifically
  • Experience with low-code platforms (Appian, Outsystems, Pega, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Appian Analyst Certification

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
