Job description

We are currently looking for a Temporary VP, Communications, based out of our New York office.
This role is focused primarily on lifestyle media relations, including fashion, music, sports and entertainment. This candidate should have a passion for creative storytelling and a strong track record of relevant experience in at least one of the above areas. We're seeking a skilled account manager, adept at providing strategic counsel to clients.
This role will work closely across interagency teams at UEG and within the DJE family of companies. If you are an innovative storyteller, proactive team player, and passionate about helping a technology client become a more exciting lifestyle brand, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Experience in lifestyle communications and an interagency environment

  • Understanding the value and impact of creative storytelling through talent, content and bespoke media experiences - and being able to help push clients with breakthrough ideas

  • Demonstrating ability to lead a high-priority account and serve as the primary point of contact for clients, while maintaining and mentoring a high-performing, creative and cross-functional team

  • Demonstrating deep understanding of earned media strategies, activation tactics for product launches, brand announcements and ability to leverage cultural trends through a PR lens is a must

  • Experience managing multiple projects from concept to completion by anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, offering client counsel, overseeing quality of work, and ensuring deadline and budget adherence

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to lead a profitable business; including budgeting, client billing, vendor invoicing, reporting, and recapping, etc.

  • Contribute to cultivating long-term relationships with key lifestyle, fashion, fitness, sports, tech / innovation, business and consumer media and influencers on behalf of clients.

Qualifications:
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience in communications, including a previous focus on lifestyle and culture

  • Proven track record managing high-performing client accounts and agency teams

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Strong and consistent problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience using data to inform planning is a bonus.

  • Team player with the ability to project confidence, a positive attitude, good judgement, and skilled under pressure

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university

$65-70 per hour
An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
