Job description

MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Specialist to support high-impact real estate operations for the United States Postal Service (USPS). In this role, you will manage a diverse portfolio of USPS properties, supporting critical leasing transactions and strategic real estate initiatives that optimize asset utilization and reduce occupancy costs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned real estate professional to contribute to large-scale federal property programs. You’ll play a key role in lease administration, transaction management, and strategic planning—helping ensure USPS facilities are positioned for operational efficiency and long-term value.
Work Locations: Greensboro, NC; Washington, DC; Denver, CO
Responsibilities

  • Manage and support real estate transaction activities for a defined portfolio of USPS properties
  • Coordinate with field resources, stakeholders, and external partners on lease renewals, new site acquisitions, and property dispositions
  • Support subleasing of excess leased space and out leasing of postal-owned properties to maximize asset value
  • Identify and implement opportunities to consolidate, co-locate, and optimize underutilized space to reduce occupancy costs
  • Review real estate documents for legal integrity, risk exposure, financial impact, and compliance
  • Develop, negotiate, and respond to a variety of real estate legal documents (e.g., Purchase & Sale Agreements, Easements, Right of Entry, Right of Way, Temporary Construction Agreements)
  • Conduct and manage renewals of high-profile USPS retail leases
  • Identify and evaluate relocation alternatives for retail postal locations
  • Determine market values through appraisal analysis and market research for acquisitions, leases, and property sales
  • Evaluate real estate transaction proposals and prepare qualitative and financial analyses to recommend optimal solutions
  • Coordinate with environmental specialists, legal counsel, and government agencies on environmental compliance documentation related to property transactions

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, or a related field
  • 5–10 years of experience in commercial leasing, real estate, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience managing real estate transactions, lease negotiations, and property portfolio activities
  • Strong knowledge of real estate documentation, legal terms, and transaction processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal real estate programs or government property portfolios
  • Strong background in lease negotiation and complex transaction structuring
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance requirements related to real estate acquisition and disposition
  • Proven ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize real estate asset performance
