LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a company local to Mount Laurel, NJ. We are seeking a detail-oriented Remittance Reimbursement Specialist to join a busy healthcare revenue cycle team. This role is responsible for posting payments, reconciling deposits, resolving unapplied cash, processing refunds, and ensuring the accurate application of insurance and patient payments. The ideal candidate will have experience with cash posting, insurance billing, payment reconciliation, and healthcare reimbursement processes. Remittance Reimbursement Specialist

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately post electronic and paper payments, denials, and correspondence from patients and insurance carriers
  • Review and resolve unapplied cash and unidentified payments
  • Identify and investigate insurance and patient underpayments and overpayments
  • Monitor and maintain credit balance reports
  • Process patient refunds and ensure timely submission and documentation
  • Review payment adjustments for accuracy and completeness
  • Download and reconcile bank deposits, verify batch totals, and update payment batches
  • Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance advice from payer portals
  • Process credit card transactions and maintain accurate payment records
  • Maintain patient account information, including demographic and insurance updates
  • Communicate reimbursement concerns, workflow issues, and trends to management
  • Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail related to billing and reimbursement activities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality, and quality assurance standards
  • Participate in departmental meetings and support revenue cycle initiatives
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, reimbursement, cash posting, or healthcare revenue cycle operations
  • Experience processing insurance and patient payments within a healthcare environment
  • Strong understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), remittance advice, and insurance reimbursement processes
  • Experience with payment reconciliation, credit balances, and refund processing
  • Knowledge of medical claims processing and insurance terminology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Strong data entry, keyboarding, and computer navigation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Ability to handle high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
