Job description

Fragrance Lab Technician / Compounder
Location: New York City, NY
Pay: $28/hour
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday
We are seeking a Fragrance Lab Technician / Compounder to support a busy fragrance laboratory in NYC. This position will work closely with perfumers to prepare fragrance compounds, application samples, and client requests.
Compounding experience is REQUIRED.
Responsibilities
  • Compound fragrance formulas for perfumers and application sample requests
  • Prepare product samples for clients, Perfumery, Marketing, Evaluation, Sensory, and proactive projects
  • Work directly with perfumers to maintain workflow and daily priorities
  • Maintain a continuous supply of raw materials needed for production
  • Prepare reports and samples to support timely completion of profiles
  • Prepare application lab demonstrations and ancillary products
  • Maintain accurate and organized laboratory notebooks
  • Maintain materials, bases, and perfumer collections
  • Follow all safety procedures and ISO 9001 requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment
Qualifications
  • Previous fragrance compounding experience is REQUIRED
  • Laboratory experience within the fragrance industry preferred
  • College coursework or relevant work experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment
Work Environment
  • Primarily laboratory-based
  • Exposure to fragrance and chemicals
  • Must be able to wear required PPE
  • May require standing, bending, sitting, and lifting 5-10 lbs.
