These positions can range from administrative roles to maintenance, customer service, or operational support. Temporary roles often last from a few weeks to several months, offering valuable experience and potential networking opportunities within the public transportation sector. Being proactive in asking questions, seeking out training resources, and staying organized can help overcome these challenges. Additionally, flexibility and a willingness to work varied shifts are key to thriving in a temporary role with the MBTA.
