Job description

The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Group Reservations Coordinator to join the team! Be part of America's beachfront legend and after a more than $550M restoration and revitalization, this Victorian seaside resort is more stunning than ever.

Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre National Historic Landmark was built in 1888 and has 938 guest rooms, cottages and villas with 97,500 square feet of banquet space, and 12 food and beverage outlets. This includes 9 restaurants & bars, marketplace, gelato shop, and in-room dining.

Classification: Temporary Full-Time (Approx 3 months)

Shift: Various - must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays. 

Pay Rate: The pay rate for this role is $22.56 per hour and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location. 

Union Position: This position is part of the Local Union which requires complete open availability. We are not able to accommodate schedule restrictions and full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal at times until seniority is established.  You must be comfortable with a schedule and hours that may vary from week to week.

What will I be doing?

As a Group Reservations Coordinator, you would be responsible for answering external/internal Hotel calls, returning e-mails/voicemails and assisting guests in booking reservations, all while providing superior property knowledge in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. 

  • Processes group reservation information including rooming lists, suites, resumes and billing requirements
  • Communicates and verifies information between Meeting Planners, Housing Bureaus, Meetings and Conventions and Front Office.
  • Answers calls, returns e-mails and voicemails. Assists guest in booking reservations, by providing superior property knowledge.
  • Coordinates and implements department activities and projects.
  • Audits OnQ PM for reservations accuracy. Looks for special requests, coding issues and billing requirements.
  • Reviews actualized rooms for potential billing errors.
  • Reviews group pick up, assist in ensuring proper availability. Monitors and Charges, No Shows and Late Cancels daily.
  • Reviews and audits third parties and consolidate
  • Assists management by booking transient reservations
  • Attend group related meeting
