Job description

Job Title: Utility Professional - GIS Technician V
Location: Rockville, MD
Contract: 12+ Months (potential for temp-to-hire opportunity)
The expectation is that candidate starts ON-SITE FROM DAY 1. MUST BE LOCAL to Bethesda, MD/Rockville, MD. 3 days On-Site and 2 days remote. Will start on-site first 100% two weeks. Will be onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
The GIS Technician will be responsible for Assuming GIS/CAD /GWD/ and other responsibilities such as following GIS data maintenance specifications; publishing maps for viewing applications such as ArcFM and responsibilities for maintaining the quality and consistency of data within GIS/ GWD; responsibility for the GIS symbology, connectivity and annotation rules; testing all GIS Related applications and tools.
  • 3 years of Design experience with ESRI ArcGIS Geographic Information System (GIS), ArcMap, ArcSchematics, knowledge related to the electric utility industry, design experience with MicroStation. MicroStation, SmallWorld (preferred)
  • 3-5+ years of Professional GIS exp
  • Utility Environment Exp preferred, but not required. Utility environment exp gets 1st priority
  • Degree in GIS or other degree accepted (NO HIGHSCOOL)
  • Excel, PowerPoint, Projects, Adobe 5+ years exp (see above in qualifier)
