CADASTRAL MAPPING SPECIALIST
This is a full-time position that involves performing a variety of mapping and title functions in preparation of a
county-wide property tax roll for a Mapping/GIS Consulting Company located in Philadelphia, MS
This job description does not contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required for
this job. Duties, responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
๏‚ท Interpret parcel identification data and locate property in multiple states from deeds, plats and wills.
๏‚ท Perform mapping and computer work in preparation and maintenance of property maps using ArcGIS
and/or AutoCad.
๏‚ท Provide map interpretation, property location and ownership status of property
๏‚ท Research and maintain change of ownership data
๏‚ท Perform map drafting including traversing legal descriptions
๏‚ท Analyze, evaluate, and interpret legal records pertaining to land ownership from a variety of sources;
determine the intent of conveying documents and the area to which they apply in order to ensure
accurate records and maps.
๏‚ท Create, maintain, and revise official parcel maps in digital form to accurately represent all land parcels,
subdivisions, and tax districts; plot parcel boundaries on cadastral maps using ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD.
๏‚ท Tax roll verification of ownership and research abstract records.
๏‚ท Write state approved legal descriptions for map changes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
๏‚ท Graduation from high school or recognized equivalent.
๏‚ท Three (3) years of experience or a combination of on-the-job training and education equal to three (3)
years with drafting, cadastral mapping or surveying is desirable.
๏‚ท Must be able to read, understand and work from plats, deeds, legal descriptions and drawings.
