Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician III. The candidate may work remotely or from the Omaha, NE AECOM office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Independently executes and delivers GIS projects varying from basic to moderate to significant scopes and complexity.
  • Develop databases and various mapping outputs to support reports and other project deliverables.
  • Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes.
  • Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components.
  • Use concepts, practices, and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients.
  • Prepare and maintain internal and external project documentation, including quality control documentation.
  • Provide support to AECOM's Military Munitions Response information dashboard.
  • Work directly with Level I/II/III/IV GIS Specialists and Project Managers.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma +4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/ or education
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Successful candidate will have to pass a background check.   

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field.
  • Strong communications skills and ability to independently manage workload schedules1+ years of GIS or other relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal and/or other relevant ArcGIS software and an understanding of the ESRI suite of products.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization and cartographic design.
