Position Summary
Provides technical assistance, as assigned, in the design, analysis, fabrication, and documentation of mechanical structures and test prototypes for space rated physical designs. The candidate will also participate in regular technical interface meetings with UNM staff, faculty, and industry partners when relevant.
This is a temporary position with an expected end date of 08/15/2025.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities which may include practicum.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Research experience participating in research on space platform design and documentation.
  • Research experience conducting manufacturing and fabrication trade studies and analyses.
  • Able to engage with industry partners at a technical level, providing data-driven engineering inputs to potential commercial designs, or academic papers.
  • Have and maintain eligibility for at minimum a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience communicating complex technical objectives and accomplishments with both technical and non-technical audiences.
