Job Position: Jr. IT Technician (Temporary/Seasonal)


Job Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL


Classification: Temporary/Seasonal Employee (1 opening)


Duration: This is a 6-month temporary position.


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Jr. IT Technician provides remote Help Desk support to internal staff, troubleshooting desktop applications and hardware issues while maintaining detailed work logs and technical documentation. This role works closely with the support team's ticketing and monitoring software to identify and resolve issues before they cause downtime and may be pulled into projects as a resource when needed. We're looking for a well-rounded, responsible, and professional teammate with strong technical aptitude who is highly responsive to staff needs. This role supports our peak insurance season and will conclude when seasonal demand decreases. This is not a permanent role and there is no guarantee of continued employment beyond the temporary period.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide remote Help Desk support for internal staff

Troubleshoot various desktop applications

Work with ticketing and monitoring software to create detailed work logs and technical documentation

Work with monitoring software to coordinate service requests and identify and resolve issues before downtime occurs

Support project work as a resource when needed, in addition to core support duties

Work effectively in a team environment, staying responsive, accountable, and professional

Requirements

Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a help desk or IT support role

The capacity to learn existing and emerging technologies

Superior organizational, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills

The ability to install, upgrade, repair, move, and replace desktops, laptops, and peripherals

Strong experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, systems, and network issues

The ability to provide technical support and problem resolution for unfamiliar software and hardware

The drive to take on new challenges and tasks without waiting to be told what to do next

Great communication and customer service skills

Basic knowledge of Windows 10, Windows 11, and Mac OS

Basic knowledge of MS Office

Basic knowledge of standard networking configurations, including LAN/WAN/VPN and firewall basics

Basic knowledge of Apple and Android devices

Familiarity with ticketing systems
