Contract Litigation Attorney (Plaintiff-Side Litigation)
3 MONTH TEMP WITH POSSIBILITY OF PERMANENT POSITION IN GARRISON, NY
Position Overview
We are seeking a Contract Litigation Attorney to support a growing plaintiff-side litigation practice. This role will focus on legal research, drafting complaints, drafting and responding to discovery, motion practice support, and case development. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled legal writer with experience handling U.S. civil litigation matters and can work independently while collaborating closely with lead counsel.
This position may be performed remotely. Candidates located in the United States or internationally (including Pune, India) will be considered, provided they possess strong knowledge of U.S. litigation procedures and exceptional legal drafting abilities.
Responsibilities
  • Draft complaints, amended complaints, and other pleadings for plaintiff-side litigation matters
  • Draft and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and other discovery requests
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms
  • Prepare legal memoranda and case summaries
  • Assist with motion drafting, including motions to compel, motions for summary judgment, and related filings
  • Review case files and identify legal theories, causes of action, and potential litigation strategies
  • Analyze case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to active matters
  • Support trial preparation and case management activities as needed
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to meet deadlines and litigation objectives
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or international equivalent law degree
  • 3+ years of litigation experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience drafting complaints and discovery in U.S. civil litigation matters
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Familiarity with state and federal court procedures
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Experience supporting plaintiff-side litigation strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working remotely with U.S.-based law firms
  • Prior experience supporting personal injury, employment, commercial litigation, consumer protection, or other plaintiff-side matters
  • Experience with e-filing systems and litigation support software
